Saturday Freebies

There are free images today and Tomorrow-Saturday June 1 and 2 on Airless Chambers and Sparkle and Glitter.

On Airless Chambers it's this cute Voodoo Guy, here are a couple samples from the EDT ladies:

And on Sparkle and Glitter we have Desdemona -the heroine of Othello:

Don't forget there is a challenge on both blogs with free digis as prizes-Three images for first place, 2 for second and one for third and all images are voted on by the EDT ladies-I break any ties so no random number picks-we had been allowing email entries but had problems last challenge with entries going missing so you must have a blog to enter---but hey, blogs are free and its worth having one just for challenges-very easy to set up with Blogger so why not get in on the fun.

Lots of new images in my Etsy shoppe-we were so excited because our Airless Chambers throw down Team (Helen, Miranda and Monique) won this months challenge over at Smeared and Smudged.

We got to choose the theme for the next throw down which is DANSE MACABRE and the team will be Miranda, Monique and Suzi so be sure and watch for that one-I am drawing some pretty interesting images and the gang has some great projects planned.

Hope you've signed up for my first rubber set from SNS? I will have an announcement soon about more rubber coming from another direction as well.

I can't believe it's JUNE already-with so much going on there is always something NEW just around the corner---almost time for the SKULL A BRATION blog hop at SNS---can't wait!

GDT-Mark Gould

I am so happy to present Mark Gould to you as a guest design Team feature-I think it's important for we few blokes of the crafty family to hang together-as I have oft described it a tiny drop of testosterone in a sea of estrogen.

Luckily both Mark and I seem to work well with the ladies-all of you know how much I treasure my EDT ladies and all they do for me and Mark is stalwart over at Haunted Design House-a great place to check out for their Monday challenges-I drop in and play there when I can because the themes are always interesting and the quality of the work produced for the challenges is often jaw dropping-many friends , fans and EDT members from my team are also actively engaged at HDH.

Here is a wee candid shot of Mark followed by a short introduction written by the man himself:

Hi, For those of you who don't know me, I'm Mark, I'm 35 and from the Uk.I work for myself as a landscape/contract gardener and Have been crafting for about 18 months and in that time have become a bit of a craft'o holic.I am loving most forms of crafting and trying new things, mixed media is a big love as is altered art and I love making ATC's and tags, the only thing I really do not like making are cards.

Style wise I will try most things (not too cute) shabby and vintage and of course dark and gothic always put a smile on my face, the darker the better really, I think it goes back to an adolescence of listening to music from people like Alice Cooper and watching films like The Crow.

With that in mind it was great fun working with Rick's images. There just is nothing quite like it out there at the moment. Out of the two images that were sent to me I think 'Monster' came out looking the best, I was able to use my favourite shades of green and with the details rick adds to his drawings it really helps accent the shading and give more depth to the finish. Its also naturally the right dimensions for tags, I did not need to manipulate it at all, always a result in my book.

Entity was a challenge, I love the image and looking back I might try different colour combos next time, I'm not to sure I carried the red of as well as it could have been. The amount of detail is amazing and yet it does not over complicate how you add colour and even fussy cutting was not as bad as I thought it might have been.

Id like to say thanks to Rick for the opportunity, I was nervous as I could be as his DT do wonders with the pro markers, copics and coloured pencils but hopefully I have done them some sort of justice. And Id like to say thanks to you for reading this. x
Mark x

In my book, Mark had no need to feel nervous about his colouring as both these images were so well done and certainly convey the feeling I had intended for each-I am crazy about the textural frame that Mark use on ENTITY and (funny thing) I just love the way he coloured the whole Monster but especially the teeth-he really caught that olde Ivory sort of shading-well done you Mr Gould!!

You will be able to find these new digis in my ETSY shoppe.

You can find much more of MARK GOULD's creations on Haunted Design House, at Smeared and Smudged and especially on his BLOG-click HERE to visit.

Special thanks to Mark Gould for taking his time to do this Guest Design Team spot for me and I am so happy to share his work with all of you...have a great weekend...CHEERS!!

Welcome to a new EDT member -JEN

I had featured JEN Leeflang awhile back on Sparkle and Glitter doing a GDT spot using the Kaualani image which got a great response.

I am happy to report that JEN has joined our EDT on the SPARKLE AND GLITTER team (one of TWO new members on the EDT stay tuned for more about the other lady).

I aked her to do a project using another new image SPANGLES and I especially asked her to make it very glitzy-see what you think of her project...

I am just LOVING this Over the Top construction and let me show you a couple more shots before I tell you about it:\

Here's one that shows the dimension:

Have you ever seen embellies like those? No? Well that because she MADE them...

Here's what Jen says about the embellishments:
Feathers, sequins, beads, and lots of bling! and (LOL!) the round embellishment is made up of two pairs of false eyelashes – pink feather eyelashes and pink lurex eyelashes - bought at the Chinese Wholesaler. If you think it’s too OTT.... Usually I let the image speak to me to tell me what needs to be done, and in this case, Spangles would just not shut up! LOL!!!

Jen, I think many designers will tell you my images are very noisy (and pushy) sometimes...when it comes to costumes I always say too much is never enough...eyelashes???? WOW!!!

Jen SEWS her embellies on and sent a shot to show what's going on BACKSTAGE:

I know, we need a tutorial or six...

I think you'll agree Jen is a great addition to my EDT...her's a snippet from her BIO:

“My name is Jen Leeflang. I’m married to Pete, and mother of Nicholas (23), Blayne (20) and Kellan (18). I am a little ‘craft crazy’!

I majored in High School Art and Art History, and have always dabbled in one craft or another for as long as I can remember. In 2007 I gave up my formal job as a PRO and Fundraiser for a school to be a stay at home mum while I homeschooled our two younger sons.
Since December 2012, I am a freelance agent for an importer of paper crafts products, design digi stamps for a South African based online digi store, and also design, make, and bead costumes for bellydancers.

You can read more HERE.

SPANGLES is now available in my ETSY shoppe-you can find her HERE.

Welcome JEN and I hoe you have a great time on our team.

THE MIST for HDH HDH166 - Stephen King Knightmare

Stephen King-one of my all time favorite authors is the theme of this weeks MACBRE MONDAY challenge at Haunted Design House.

I love IT, The Stand, Needful Things and many of his other works, both novels and short stories.

My absolute Favorite is THE MIST (a novella also published as a movie treatment novel, an audo book/play and a motion picture.

I was so exited when it was going to be a film but reminded myself that SK vehicles do not translate well to motion pictures (or TV for that matter).

Something so scary about death in nightmarish forms coming-not from the dark and not from the light but from a dull white mist that smells a little like petroleum and is probably rushing in from another dimension thanks to the U S Army and their experiments.

Man eating tentacles, Giant spider creatures, HUGE things that wander around covered with giant bugs all only shadows, outlines, things not clearly seen till they reach out and grab you and pull you screaming into the mist.

This is my drawing based on Stephen King's "THE MIST"-the challenge aks for a work inspired by STPHEN KING:

And this is the project I made using the drawing-I wanted to keep it free of colour except for spattered blood red like his world of the mist- as the mist comes in the colour fades.

Hope you enjoy my image you can find it HERE in my ETSY shoppe.

I would like to enter it in Haunted Design House Monday Madness Challenge SYEPHEN KING.
